Caldwell & Co, Philadelphia, white enamel SS dial, fancy gold Louis XV style hands, SW-shifting-LS with setting lever in rear accessible when outer lid is open, fully capped lever escapement, 20J, wolf's tooth winding, wheel satin nickel finish, s#19148 within rear. Gross weight of assembled watch 59.8 dwt (93.0 g). Comes with a fitted wooden H.R. Ekegren box with marking also for retailer J.E. Caldwell & Co, Philadelphia.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running with a small bit of error to the round of the balance motion, setting lever moves very stiffly and does not shift fully to remain in engagement without holding of the lever and disengages immediately upon release of lever, hands do set properly while setting lever is manually held but the setting function is not operating in the manner designed, overhaul recommended for restoration of original setting procedure, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, few small mars tight around stem detent screw, oxide to escape cap setting; dial with hl from 12 to upper right of seconds-register, few small fine scratches; nearly mint hands; case shows little wear, scratch to bezel at 1 from past slipped opening, dings to band at 2:30 and 6, few small nicks to band, no dents; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal; box exterior with a fracture across the rear portion of its upper lid, interior is missing a thin wooden slat within upper lid at left side, silk liner with some staining at perimeter and with a small pen mark at right side.
